Come and say hello.

We are Felicity and Silvio, the owners/operators of Lucille Bistro.

Up until November 2020, we had spent 10 years running an Italian restaurant in the Melbourne CBD.

Then the pandemic hit; we let go of our city space and came across this iconic restaurant site in the heart of East Ivanhoe Village, which we both knew well.

We decided 2021 was the year to move to the suburbs and create a neighbourhood dining destination with approachable food, welcoming service and good wine. Lucille Bistro opened on 13 May, 2021. It was a rocky start with continued lock-downs but what we found was a wonderfully supportive community. We are delighted to be in the area.

Lucille is Silvio’s mother’s second name, given to her out of a love of Lucille Ball by her mother Joan.

The name represents a life of fun, humility and giving which was ever-present in both our childhoods. Silvio’s father was Sicilian, a very generous and loving man. His mother is free spirited and gregarious with a love of 50’s and 60’s rock ‘n’ roll which has been passed on to Silvio.

Felicity’s parents are hard working and great lovers of the arts. This had a profound impact on her life growing up. From playing the violin, to performing in musicals and painting some of the artworks that adorn the walls of the restaurant, Felicity has always found a creative outlet alongside her careers in arts management and hospitality.

We both now channel our energies into Lucille and bring elements of our respective childhoods to you.

We hope you will enjoy the restaurant as much as we enjoy being here.
